An order of mandatory curfew has been reinstated on September 8, 2017, at 10:00am effective until further notice, for the entire City of Simonton jurisdiction. The curfew is between the hours of 10pm and 6am preventing persons without authority from being upon the public streets or right-of-way located within the City of Simonton. This will greatly assist law enforcement in protecting against further loss.
The city has been informed that debris that is removed from the right of way is not considered looting.
FEMA will be setting up a Disaster Recovery Site at Simonton Church, 9703 FM 1489, Simonton Rd, Simonton, TX 77476, (281) 346-1221 starting today at 1pm. The office will be open from 7am to 7pm Monday-Saturday until further notice.
Just as a reminder, all flood recovery information, including well testing and permitting, can be found on the city website, www.SimontonTexas.gov, under the “2017 Flood Recovery” tab. The Flood Damage Permit Application is also found on the “2017 Flood Recovery” tab. The form can be submitted online. After remediation and before starting to repair the property, the Flood Damage Permit application will need to be submitted and a determination letter from the floodplain administrator will need to be issued. You can review the permitting process by reading over the “Building Permit Process” section under the “2017 Flood Recovery” tab.
