Fort Bend County Health & Human Services have received Tetanus vaccine and would like to see if residents of the City of Simonton have a need for Tetanus vaccinations. Tetanus boosters are only required once every 5-10 years. If you would like to have this service provided to the Simonton area please register at the following form “2017 Pre-Registration for Tetanus Booster” found on the following link ( http://simontontexas.gov/2017-flood-recovery/ ) so we can inform Fort Bend County Health and Human Services of the need in our area.

Red Cross has provided a new resource for disaster recovery immediate assistance. For more information go to http://www.redcross.org/hhia . Anyone who is having a problem registering and qualifying with the Red Cross link should call 1-800-RED-CROSS to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved after calling Red Cross directly, you can fill out the “Request for Red Cross to Follow-up Form” found on the following link http://simontontexas.gov/2017-flood-recovery/
Jones|Carter will be in the area to perform the initial flood damage inspections of the buildings in the Simonton area on Monday, September 11, 2017. Home owners are not required to be present during the inspection, however, Jones|Carter will need to coordinate inspections, that is not gathered on Monday, around home owners schedule for each individual property. An order of mandatory curfew has been reinstated on September 8, 2017, at 10:00am effective until further notice, for the entire City of Simonton jurisdiction. The curfew is between the hours of 10pm and 6am preventing persons without authority from being upon the public streets or right-of-way located within the City of Simonton. This will greatly assist law enforcement in protecting against further loss.
The city has been informed that debris that is removed from the right of way is not considered looting.
FEMA will be setting up a Disaster Recovery Site at Simonton Church, 9703 FM 1489, Simonton Rd, Simonton, TX 77476, (281) 346-1221 starting today at 1pm. The office will be open from 7am to 7pm Monday-Saturday until further notice.
Just as a reminder, all flood recovery information, including well testing and permitting, can be found on the city website, www.SimontonTexas.gov, under the “2017 Flood Recovery” tab. The Flood Damage Permit Application is also found on the “2017 Flood Recovery” tab. The form can be submitted online. After remediation and before starting to repair the property, the Flood Damage Permit application will need to be submitted and a determination letter from the floodplain administrator will need to be issued. You can review the permitting process by reading over the “Building Permit Process” section under the “2017 Flood Recovery” tab.

We anticipate flood debris collection to begin during the week of September 11th-15th. Normal household trash and bagged debris of any kind will not be picked up with disaster debris. You should continue to follow your normal garbage removal schedule. Please remove food from refrigerators, prior to debris collection. Thank you to all residents who are sorting debris according to Fort Bend County OEM recommendations.
